The Outfit
I had a feeling that our five-year anniversary trip to the beach might include an engagement, so naturally, I had to find the perfect outfit! Before we left, I popped into Abercrombie and stumbled upon the most adorable cream tweed set in the clearance section. The top is cropped just right, with wide, adjustable straps and a hidden side zipper that makes it super comfortable. And the skirt—well, technically, it’s a skort—has a scalloped slit, built-in shorts (a total win), a hidden zipper, and a flattering high waist. It’s the kind of outfit that feels casual but totally put together. Plus, I love that I can wear the pieces separately for other occasions!
The Proposal
The proposal itself was everything I could have imagined and more. My fiancé proposed at the hotel where we were staying, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in Del Mar, California. Picture this: a beautiful fountain, rose petals scattered around, and a photographer quietly waiting nearby to capture the moment. There was even a bottle of champagne off to the side! I was so shocked and overjoyed—I still can’t believe how much planning went into making everything perfect. And the ring? Absolutely gorgeous! I called my best friends and family right away to share the news. It all felt surreal.
The Beach Picnic
Afterward, we headed to the beach, and to my surprise, my brother and sister-in-law were waiting for us with a dreamy picnic setup. The food was delicious, the setting was stunning, and my sister-in-law even took photos of us by the ocean. Those beach photos are hands down my favorite from the entire day.
